Blanket Bay

Blanket Bay is a small Lodge located at the north shores of Lake Wakatipu near the borders of Fiordland National Park on New Zealand’s South Island, facing the snow-capped Humboldt mountains. Besides the guest rooms in the main building the lodge embraces separate chalets for more privacy. With its stone fire place and beamed ceiling the Lake View Dining Room serves Pacific Rim cuisine combined with the finest wines and spirits of New Zealand. Guests can also enjoy their dinner at the Wine Cave, which is a private dining venue for up to six people, or at the Terrace with lake and mountain views on warmer evenings. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, fishing and helicopter flights.

Located in the main building, Blanket Bay provides five lakeside Lodge Rooms with private balcony or terrace and three spacious Lodge Suites with own fireplace and private terrace. Furthermore there are four intimate Chalet Suites with open stone fireplaces. Offering lake and mountain views the Lodge reflects New Zealand colonial architecture.

Rates start at EUR 645 per doubleroom and night plus tax.

In 2014 Blanket Bay has been named in Andrew Harper’s Top 20 International Hideaways.
