Kwandwe Private Game Reserve is a 22,000 ha wilderness in the Eastern Cape. Approximately 65 km from the coast, located in near proximity to the Garden Route in South Africa, boasting 4 individual game lodges in private corners of the reserve on 30 km of privately owned Great Fish River frontage. In addition to a wide variety of safari activities including game drives and bush walks, picnic lunches and dinners alfresco, sundowners on the dam’s pontoon and boat excursions, Kwandwe has introduced a number of ‘active participation’ activities that invite guests to get involved in the conservation and community initiatives being carried out on the reserve.
The Reserve provides two safari lodges and two sole-use safari villas:
– Ecca Lodge: Six spacious suites feature ensuite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, private decks with plunge pools
– Great Fish River Lodge: Nine suites feature ensuite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers covered verandas with plunge pools
– Melton Manor: A sole-use safari villa with four en-suite bedrooms, featuring high ceilings and deep verandas
– Uplands Homestead: A restored farmhouse dating back to 1905, with three spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and private verandas
Rates for the Great Fish River Lodge and the Ecca Lodge start at EUR 269 per adult sharing (low season) up to EUR 490 (peak season). Melton Manor starts at EUR 1,186, Uplands Homestead at EUR 1,034, both for exlusive use only.
