The Balmoral, with its majestic clock tower is located at 1 Princes Street, in the very centre of Edinburgh. Welcomed by the kilted doorman, guests can explore the signature whisky bar, Scotch, the elegant afternoon tea room, Palm Court, and Michelin-starred restaurant, Number One, presided over by Executive Chef, Jeff Bland, who has maintained his Michelin star for 14 consecutive years. The hotel also offers a more casual dining option, Hadrian’s Brasserie, a luxurious spa with a swimming pool, sauna gym and juice bar, and ten function rooms for events and conferences that can accommodate up to 450 people, all of which enjoy fantastic views of Edinburgh Castle.
The hotel’s 168 bedrooms and 20 suites were designed by Olga Polizzi. Many of the bedrooms have Sean Connery James Bond prints. All of the suites are named after Scottish castles and rivers, with one exception – suite 552. The JK Rowling Suite hosts a marble bust of Hermes, signed by the author after she completed the final Harry Potter book right here in 2007.
