The Charles Hotel is located on the site of the former university library at the Old Botanical Garden. Inspired by this special location, Olga Polizzi, Director of design and sister of Sir Rocco Forte, used botanic and book themes for the interior design. Fine woods and traditional Bavarian natural stone, warm natural shades and high-quality crafted natural materials such as cotton and silk bear Olga’s unmistakeable designer signature. Specially manufactured furniture and decoration elements as well as art pieces from Munich artists, round up the interior. Sophia’s Restaurant & Bar applies the maxim: casual enjoyment with competence and passion. The new “Botanical Bistronomy” stands out with its regional ingredients and high culinary standards in a relaxed atmosphere. Its extraordinary cocktail creations reflect a distinctive imagination. Pure relaxation is to be enjoyed in the 800 sqm spa, which boasts Munich’s longest hotel indoor pool. With sauna, steam bath, wellness showers, relaxation room and gym, no wish will remain unfilled. In the lobby of The Charles Hotel, luxury brands display and inspire guests for their next shopping tour in Munich’s city centre.
The Charles Hotel provides 160 rooms, 24 of which are suites and include the Royal Suite Monforte, named after the birthplace of Sir Rocco Forte’s father, the renowned hotelier Lord Charles Forte, who died in 2007. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the minimum 40 sqm standard rooms provide a light-flooded atmosphere and offer a stunning view overlooking the Old Botanical Garden or the historical buildings of Munich. The individually designed suites consist of separate living and sleeping areas.
Rates start at EUR 270 per room per night.
