Named after the alpine plant “Edelweiss” known as an icon of mountaineers and alpinists, DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort rises into the sky right in front of our eyes. Barely 70 kilometers from the city of Salzburg, nestled in lush greenery at the foot of a mountain, the resort overlooks the idyllic village of Großarl. Established in 1977 as a guest house with fourteen rooms, the resort has been a family business for three generations and has expanded its accommodations ever since. Known as ‘the Valley of Mountain huts', the Grossarltal offers 40 traditional alpine huts and is therefore an exceptional hideaway for well-maintained hiking and biking trails. Perfectly situated, DAS EDELWEISS Salzburg Mountain Resort welcomes its guests during summer and winter times at eye level.
A hideaway for the soul
Entering the wooden complex, design lights emit cozy and enchanting vibes right away. Speaking of feeling at home: The plant which is the namesake of the resort "Edelweiss" stands for love and community which is related to the hotel's philosophy: To be a place for young and old.

Let's head to the open bar in the lobby to try the bubble cocktail. Watching the bartender preparing this drink is already spectacular.
Towards the mountains
The suite belongs to the premium suites of the resort. Looking through the large glass front of the room, watching the mountain panorama feels almost surreal. A cozy fireplace in the open living room area invites me to linger here.
Good morning Sunshine
Junior Suite “Arnika” emits comfort and feels good right away. Don't you turn on the TV as the view through the glass front is already as dreamy as it gets.
Premium Suite "Lavendel"
The name of the suite derives from plant lavender which stands for inner peace and serenity. Likewise, this suite provides enough room for four people as well as plenty of room for the mind.
Reach for the stars
On top of the building you can find 115 square meters of luxurious privacy... The exclusive Top-Suite boasts space for up to 6 people and leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Up here on the eighth floor of the resort you get access to the 200 square meter terrace offering incredible views of the slopes and mountains. The penthouse boasts a Finnish sauna and a heated pool on the terrace which is utterly inviting for a dip...

Make kid’s eyes shine in awe
A tire takes us into the darkness of the water slide. Screaming and laughing we slide towards a boomerang half-pipe. Water splashing tires spinning and from now on we move back to front. After more than 100 meters of seemingly endless water slides the wild merry-go-round ride finally ends. This is definitely not only for the little ones.
Additionally the resort provides fully equipped playrooms for children, a climbing wall, a spacious ball pool, painting places, cuddle corners, and even a separate cinema.
The Sirloin
At The Sirloin - you can enjoy and watch the chef cooking live in an open kitchen while waiting for your dinner. This evening was without a doubt a very special one due to the wonderful service and exclusive atmosphere.

Ready to dive into the delicious world of wine? Kork & Gloria offers everything your heart desires - from regional drops to Grand Cru. Another culinary highlight is the Sushi pop-up restaurant on four wheels. Alexis, the Sushi Master, artfully prepares the dishes right in front of your eyes.
Tasting alpine air
Ready, set, go: Panorama Sport provides professional OSET trial bikes and guided tours. We head out onto the green meadows and slopes with E-bikes. Riding up the mountain with turbo speed feels incredible and we have plenty of time to admire the surroundings. Our guide shows us the secret spots and guides us to the best viewpoints of the area. The mountains are so high that they wear snow dresses all the time...
Let the winds of enthusiasm sweep through you
On our way downhill we try our first trail through the middle of the forest. Courage is required but rolling across the grasslands with thick tires is fun and a great experience.
